In July 2014, the LMHI-ECH Homeopathic Proving Guidelines was published as a best-practice document that would serve as a reference text for homeopaths, researchers, journal editors, regulators and educators on the most current experience and thinking on homoeopathic provings and proving methodology. The document reflects the considered views of experienced proving directors in Europe, South Africa, the USA and Brazil, and seeks to encourage the alignment of the divergent practices across the globe to a single source text. To date the Guidelines have been translated into French, Spanish and Portuguese, and have been adopted in Europe, South- and Central America, and South Africa. Our most recent experiences further suggest that the Guidelines yield useful proving data and stands up to regulatory review. The LMHI and ECH are currently reviewing the Guidelines in terms of these experiences with a view to publishing a Revised edition in 2019.
To this end, the LMHI Working Group for Provings and the ECH Subcommittee for Provings invite participants with a particular interest and experience in homoeopathic provings (including C4 trituration provings) to exchange experiences and perspectives around three particular questions:
- ‘Adverse Events’ in provings: How do we acknowledge and manage these within the proving itself, and within a regulatory framework?
- Is there a need to ‘regularise’ C4-trituration provings within the existing Guidelines, or is this either premature or unnecessary?
- How can participation in a proving as a student enhance teaching and learning during basic homeopathic education?
The workshop will be co-chaired by Prof. Ashley Ross [Secretary for Provings (LMHI)] and Dr Jean Pierre Jansen [Chair: Subcommittee for Provings (ECH)], with a presentation by Dr Hélène Renoux [President: ECH and Member: Subcommittee for Provings (ECH)].
Attendance of the Pre-Congress Proving Workshop is FREE
Access is however restricted to those who have booked their participation online. Space is strictly limited to 50 seats.
